Connect with one’s essence
Listening to silence is a way of internalize that unites us all equally. When you silence the noise, you hear the sound of your true being.
Find your inner silence and you’ll listen to your soul:
“Like the sound of the sea inside a shell, the sound of silence whispers within you, filling you with wisdom.”
Listening to silence is an art that requires developing a contemplative attitude. When inner silence is achieved, we prepare ourselves to speak better and also to listen better. It improves our relationship with ourselves and with people around us.
A disciple, before being recognized as such by his teacher, was sent to the mountain to learn to listen to nature. After a while, he returned to tell the teacher what he had perceived.
– “I heard the chirping of birds, the howling of the dog, the noise of thunder …
– “No, -the teacher said-, go back to the mountain again. You’re not ready yet.
For the second time he told the teacher what he had perceived.
– “Master, I have heard the sound of the leaves being rocked by the wind, the singing of the water in the river, the lament of a baby alone in the nest”.
– “No, -the teacher said again-, not yet. Go back to nature and listen to it.”
Finally, one day …
– “Master, I have heard the boiling of life that radiated from the sun, the moan of the leaves when being trampled, the heartbeat of the sap that ascended on the stem, the trembling of the petals opening open caressed by the light”.
– “Now, yes, come, because you’ve heard what you can not hear.”
